Strength Systems

My story

Adam Philpott, strength coach in Sileby.

Strength Systems was born from my own journey with strength training. I created it because I understand what it feels like to struggle with confidence and uncertainty around your body and training.

How it started

I was always sporty at school and loved playing football before taking up kickboxing at 15. As a teenager I struggled with my weight, losing and gaining significant amounts, and I felt the impact that had on my confidence.

That journey still shapes how I coach. I know first-hand that training can change more than your physique. It can transform your confidence, mindset and the way you see yourself. That belief is at the heart of Strength Systems.

Finding strength training

Discovering strength training changed the direction of my life. Watching Matt Morsia’s early fitness and powerlifting content sparked my interest in training and nutrition. The gym community around me inspired me to start competing.

I began competing in powerlifting at 16. I entered my first competition and became obsessed with learning everything I could about training, nutrition and strength. At that stage I was largely self-taught, watching videos, researching and putting it into practice.

The path

Learning, competing, coaching

The right coaching

I took my training to the next level with professional coach Shane Flowers, who competes in World’s Strongest Man. That showed me the value of structured training and having the right coaching and systems in place.

Strongman

After my Level 3 Personal Training qualification I moved into Strongman, learning from Shane Jerman of MST and Tom Hibbert at Winning Strength. I completed a 130kg log press, another milestone as an athlete.

Back to powerlifting

I returned to powerlifting and competed at the WRPF Nationals, finishing second in my category and hitting a 270kg deadlift.

Coaching clients

Alongside my own training I have been coaching small groups for the past five years, and I have built a loyal client base through bespoke 1-to-1 coaching.

Still learning

I am studying the Winning Strength Diploma and working with coach Owen Gale from Winning Strength, plus a specialist nutritionist. My goal is a National Federation record in the deadlift.

Who this is for

My passion is helping people hit their own goals. Getting stronger, improving technique, building confidence, or simply becoming more comfortable in the gym.

Why Strength Systems

Stronger physically.
Stronger mentally.

I have been through the journey myself. I want to use everything I have learned through competing, coaching and continuing my education to help others become stronger, both physically and mentally.

Wherever you are starting from, you have the potential to progress.
